Cobra Kai stars Peyton List and Jacob Bertrand have finally confirmed that the rumors are true and they are an item. Peyton, 23, and Jacob, 22, both chatted to TMZ after they were spotted strolling around LAX this Tuesday. Jacob joked that the photographers ‘caught’ them and revealed to the website: ‘We’ve been dating for awhile.’ It emerged they have known each other since before they were even appearing on the Netflix series, which premiered on the website in 2018. ‘I mean, we’ve been friends for awhile. Like I met her when I was like 15. And I was actually tight friends with her brother Spencer, so that was kinda awkward,’ he said. Jacob recalled: ‘I had to be like: “Hey, man, like, I like your sister.” But, yeah, we, I don’t know, had fun on set and then hung out off set.’ He confessed that he has ‘never dated anyone I’ve worked with before,’ so the experience of doing so now is a ‘trial by fire almost’ for him.
However when he was asked who would leave Cobra Kai in the event that they broke up, he quipped: ‘I’m staying. I’ve been here longer and I’ve got a cool hairstyle, so.’ Peyton was also asked about the potential repercussions of dating a colleague and she joked with a laugh that she would ‘think about the consequences later.’ She was also asked the same question that Jacob was about whether one of them would have to exit the series if they broke up in real life.
Peyton laughed in response and said: ‘No, I don’t know,’ adding: ‘I don’t wanna think about that,’ as she headed off on her way. Cobra Kai is a comedy spin-off of the Karate Kid movies, and even features the original franchise’s leading child star Ralph Macchio in a grownup version of his role. Jacob and Peyton respectively play Hawk and Tory, two teenage characters who are both students at the Cobra Kai Dojo.
