Season five of Cobra Kai, the Netflix series that serves as a sequel to the original Karate Kid films. The new season will follow what happens after the “shocking results” of season four’s All Valley Tournament. “Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his ‘No Mercy’ style of karate the only game in town,” says the press release. “With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.” Additionally, the release ominously notes, “The battle for the soul of the Valley may be over, but the war is just beginning.” World War Karate debuts globally on September 9 on Netflix, starring William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence), Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso), Xolo Maridueña (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene), Peyton List (Tory), and more. Milo Manheim has lined up another TV series role! The 21-year-old Zombies 3 star is joining former Disney star Peyton List in the upcoming series School Spirits, according to Deadline. Based on Nate & Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen’s upcoming graphic novel, the series centers on a teen (List) stuck in the afterlife who decides to investigate her mysterious disappearance alongside a group of other students who are also stuck in limbo at their high school. Milo has been cast as Wally, “a lovable ghost from the 1980s who in his glory days was a star high school football player.” It’s unclear when the series will be released, but the graphic novel is set to out in fall 2023. Last month, when Peyton‘s casting was revealed, she said she can’t wait to get started “soon.”

On Wednesday, the streamer announced a series order for the drama, which focuses on a teen stuck in the afterlife who decides to investigate her mysterious disappearance alongside a group of other students who are also stuck in limbo at their high school.
It is based on an upcoming graphic novel by Nate & Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen, set to be published in fall 2023.
The eight-episode series is produced by Awesomeness Live-Action Studio, with Oliver Goldstick (“Pretty Little Liars,” “Bridgerton”) serving as showrunner and executive producer. Nate and Megan Trinrud are also executive producing, and they wrote the pilot.
Max Winkler (“Cruel Summer,” “Jungleland”) is directing the pilot. The series will premiere on Paramount+ on a date to be announced.
“School Spirits” is overseen by the newly promoted Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin, executive vice presidents and co-heads of Nickelodeon and Awesomeness live-action series and film.
